Movie Review: The Dark Knight (2008)

Movie Review: The Dark Knight (2008)

You will find him frustratingly intelligent and sadistic in his ways of anarchy.
You will find him unbelievably ruthless to try and stop the anarchy from happening.

I thought it was just another superhero movie but with plenty of computer graphics and sequences but the movie actually had quite some character development and depth.

In the movie, Batman thought he finally found a worthy hero in Harvey(without having to wear a mask) for Gotham City and tried his best to push Harvey, the new police commissioner, to become the hero figure-head that the peope of Gotham needs to rally behind against crime. However, his plans went wrong when he cornered the money of the mob families, which in turn, risked hiring The Joker who promised to kill Batman for the mob.

It was a real roller-coaster ride from there as Batman and The Joker exchanged some of the fiercest battles of words, actions and intelligence. The Joker had some really horrific schemes up his sleeves (even though he claimed to be a spontaneous non-scheming anarchist) while Batman had to struggle with his mortal dilemmas when he had to choose between saving Rachel (the girl whom he hopes to be with) and Harvey (the hero-to-be whom he hopes to lead Gotham City).

I loved the action scenes for their intensity and pace and I really liked the battle of morals between order and chaos, good and evil depicted by both the actions and words of Batman, The Joker and Harvey. Expect many twists in the movie and see how some of the really difficult decisions Batman had to make in order to save what he treasured the most.

I would give it a high 4.75 out of 5 for this movie. Highly recommended for those who have not watched it yet.
