Water Exhibition at Singapore Science Centre

Last Thursday was an interesting day because one of my tuition lessons was converted into a field excursion into Singapore Science Centre. This was actually at the request of a parent who wanted her children to learn about Science first-hand.

One of the exhibits was the Water Barrage where a huge water reservoir will be built at the Marina Bay area in order to store more water and create some water recreational area as well. I was impressed - this is one of the things Singapore did well to plan ahead for and the need will be absolutely crucial. A nice polar bear exhibit to show how natural water resources are depleted can threaten our survival. I love this shot because of the lighting, making the polar bear looks more life-like. Then again, I am just bragging it myself..hahaha. It looks like water, right? It isn't. The illusion is created using undulating glass to form the supposed ripples of the water. Pretty? A nice, revolving globe which has moving images on it. This is made possible by four projectors from four corners. It's a cool concept and the globe was one of the most beautiful exhibits on the exhibitions. I will try to remember this exhibit technical layout as an idea if I am to design my own exhibition in the future. This was dinner at some Bah Ku Teh place at Kallang with The Busy Bee on last Saturday evening. The soup was really spicy but the pork ribs were delicious and I was completely stuffed by the time dinner was over. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy but the omelette was abit soggy and bland.

Time to bathe. Long day tomorrow for me. Goodnight my blog readers! =D
