Kboxing, Afternoon and Shopping with The Busy Bee, Peeking at Vivace! 09 Concert Auditions

Kboxing, Afternoon Tea and Shopping with The Busy Bee:

Both of us went for the Kbox Lunch at Marina Square (since I intended to go over to Music Dreamer Cafe to take a look at the auditions) and we sang from 1120am to 2.10pm with the Japanese Bento lunch sets. No wonder every one before us ordered the Japanese Bento set lunch because they were delicious - fish in soya sauce, Japanese pearl rice, mini prawn fritters, mushroom in marinated sauce and mango pudding. (Photos to be uploaded later).

We sang mostly 五月天 (Mayday)'s songs because she is going to the Mayday Concert in Singapore so she wanted to practice their songs so she could enjoy the concert better. We also sang quite a few numbers from various English artistes such as Amy Winehouse, James Morrison, David Tao, Jay Chou, Yvonne Xu, Khalil Fong, etc, etc. We were also discussing about the various songs, artistes, singing techniques and problems, particularly on why she herself kept on singing higher pitches and had trouble bringing the pitch down.

After Kbox Lunch, The Busy Bee accompanied me to see the Vivace! 09 Concert Auditions, which were just a short walk away but I was a little disappointed with the turnout (see blog section below).

With nothing much to cover for the auditions, we headed off to Millenia Walk's Coffee Club and ordered some afternoon tea and lazed there for a bit (photos to be uploaded later). The decor was lush orange but most importantly, it's beautifully serene for a Saturday afternoon to chitchat or simply lay back and relax.

When our tea was drunk and our throats and feet rested, we made our way into Millenia Walk for the shopping phrase, I was looking for a wristwatch and a wallet but I was not easily pleased with what I saw so I did not manage to find myself what I needed yesterday but The Busy Bee had a better catch, high-heeled shoes from Millenia Walk for her formal events and two polo tops (we found ourselves in Suntec City) for her casual Friday workdays. By the time we left Suntec City back to CityLink, it was already 6.30pm and we ended the day - she had a National Day dinner to go to while I headed back home to rest for my Sunday's work to come.

Peeking at Vivace! 09 Concert Auditions @ Music Dreamer Cafe @ Marina Square:

I reached Music Dreamer Cafe at around 1415hrs only to find a handful of audition participants (around 14) and two or three of the organizers at a small table outside the entrance of Music Dreamer Cafe. Some of the audition participants are busy rehearsing songs with lyric sheets whilst others are sitting on the chairs provided.

No other cameramen or video-taking personnel were there to document the event so I chose not to take any photographs because there really was not much to take anyway. With the Busy Bee around, I decided to just make a quick and discreet round and left the venue to continue our outing instead. It looked as if there was just not enough publicity to rouse the interests of many people to participate. Another reason I could think of was that there were many other entertainment related events (Rainie, Wilbur, NDP rehearsal, etc on the same day, which drew the crowd away.

In any case, all the best to those who were competing for charity's sake.

It's a Sunday morning as I am typing this - stomach's grumbling - time for breakfast and preparation for work (Yes, I work on Sundays - no life right? But someone has to save the world, even on Sundays....

That's all for now. Have a good week ahead! ^__^
