Chinese Lunar New Year Celebrations Part I:

Chinese Lunar New Year Special 2008:

The show was surprisingly entertaining because I usually don't watch such television specials but this year is different because I would still love to catch the various Superstars in action.
Mickey and Minnie actually made their special appearance on the show, bringing back fond memories of my childhood when I watched those black-and-white Disney cartoons on television many years back. They are still a familiar sight even though I feel they are mouses and not rats, which are supposedly the correct creature for the Year of The Rat.
The lion dance item was very exciting. The photograph was taken just before the lion dancers made a very awe-inspiring jump across multiple crescent hoops of fire. The jump was at least more than two metres and they made it without a hitch. Very impressive indeed.
This shot looks like some of the celebrities were actually kissing one another onstage but it's just the angle of the shot. I believe this was already near the end of their song item. It was a very valuable chance for these young Superstars to perform during Chinese New Year Eve Special.
This was another shot of Keely, Benjamin, Diya, Daren, Zhengning and Shawn onstage doing their song item in front of a packed street audience at Chinatown. They seemed to be enjoying themselves alot onstage, which was a very good thing.
The studio emcees of the CNY Special show, Zhengrong and Yifeng, alongside with Ivy Lee, talking to a call-in home audience during a games segment. The fellow was lucky to go home with more than $3,000 after Ivy gave a very obvious hint to the answer - purple (calculator).
This was taken during another of the many games segment of the CNY Eve Special. It shows Sucheng, Felicia, Ivy and Geping at a flower nursery trying to inculcate the values of familiy togetherness, especially during Chinese Lunar New Year.

This is another exciting games segment where celebrities and audience had to compete against one another as well as time to fish out the relevant cards representing electronic items and appliances supported by MIO. They competed really hard until the styrofoam pellets-filled box was sliding to and fro onstage, making it one of the most interesting highlights for all the games played last night.
Chinese Lunar New Year Reunion Dinner 2008:

This was the amazing spread of Chinese New Year dishes that my mother had prepared for the whole family. There are a total of fourteen dishes for a family of XXX. It's a tradition that my mother had kept up after my grandparents in which she believes that the family should always enjoy homecooked food on Chinese Lunar New Year Eve - to show that there is always food at home for everyone.
Another photograph of the part of the feast we had. There were abalone, soup, prawns, mushrooms, vegeatables, fish, chicken, duck, crab, pork, bamboo shoots, cocktails, dessert and liquor. Everyone had completely full stomachs after the 2 hour dinner. After dinner, we waited for the CNY Eve Special to start on television.

Stay tuned for more upcoming posts on my Chinese Lunar New Year Celebratons! Time to go find for dinner! Hope everyone is enjoying themselves too! =)
